KINGS of MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’. 336-323 BC. AV Stater (18.5mm, 8.60 g, 12h). Tarsos mint. Struck under Balakros or Menes, circa 332/1-327 BC. Helmeted head of Athena right, griffin on helmet / Nike standing left, holding wreath in extended right hand and cradling stylis in left arm; pellet/globule to outer right. Price 3456–66 var. (different symbol on rev.). Faint cleaning marks, edge scrape, minor double strike on reverse. Good VF. Extremely rare, possibly unique.
