ATTICA, Athens. Circa 454-404 BC. AR Tetradrachm (24mm, 16.40 g, 10h). Contemporary imitation. Helmeted head of Athena right, with frontal eye / Owl standing right, head facing, closed tail feathers; olive spray and crescent to left; all within incuse square. For prototype: cf. Starr pl. XXIII, 1–3’; cf. Kroll 8; cf. HGC 4, 1597. Slightly weak strike at high points. VF. Interesting early post-454 issue imitation. |
