ROMAN. Imperial. Pottery Redware Oil Lamp. Circa 1st century AD. (4” / 10.2 cm long). Rounded form with spout and raised handle, the central roundel decorated with a griffin, floral decoration around the outer rim. Rosenthall-Sivan, Ancient Lamps in the Schloessinger Collection, 147. Intact, the white glaze mostly rubbed off but present in recesses.
