MACEDON (Roman Protectorate), Republican period. First Meris. Circa 167-149 BC. AR Tetradrachm (35mm, 16.62 g, 9h). Amphipolis mint. Diademed and draped bust of Artemis right, with bow and quiver over shoulder; all in the center of a Macedonian shield / Club right; monogram above, two monograms below; all within oak wreath; thunderbolt to left. Prokopov, Silver, Group I.A, 29 (O7/R22); HGC 3, 1103. Toned, with some iridescence, trace deposits, minor double strike on reverse. Good VF. Rare issue with these monograms.
