ISLANDS off ATTICA, Aegina. Circa 480-457 BC. AR Hemistater – Drachm (16mm, 6.09 g, 6h). Sea turtle, head in profile, with ‘T-back’ design on shell / Large square incuse with skew pattern. Meadows, Aegina, Group IIIa; Milbank Period III; HGC 6, 442; SNG Copenhagen 508; SNG Delepierre 1527; Boston MFA –; Dewing –; Rosen 220. Deeply toned, some find patina, a few light cleaning marks. EF. Rare, and exceptional for issue.
