Cross potent set on three steps on globus / Legend in five lines, surrounded by triple linear border decorated by evenly spaced globules. DOC 18; SB 1754. Attractively toned, reverse struck slightly off center, some usual minor doubling. Good VF.

An interesting issue with Senior Emperor Constantine appearing in third billing behind his overbearing father-in-law, Romanus, and even more outrageously, behind his newly elevated brother-in-law, Christopher. Issues such as this one left little doubt as to who was really in power during Constantine VII’s haphazard joint reign with his domineering relatives.
