Uniformed bust of Admiral Dewey right; signature of Admiral Dewey below / USS Olympia (Admiral Dewey’s flagship) right; JOS K. DAVISON PHILA stamped to lower left. Suspension bar stamped WASHINGTON CITY OCT. 1899 with anchor in wreath on obverse, and MANILA MAY 1, 1888 on reverse; brooch shows US Capitol with ornate frame above on obverse, and THE BRONZE IN THIS/MEDAL WAS CAPTURED BY/ADMIRAL DEWEY AT MANILA. on reverse; ribbon displays US flag and Admiral Standard in saltire.
