ELECTROTYPES, SICILY. Entella. Punic issues. Circa 345/38-320/15 BC. Electrotype “AR Ttetradrachm” (25.5mm, 12.84 g, 12h). British Museum electrotype by Robert Ready ([R] R on edge). Uncertain female head to left (Dido or more probably Tanit), wearing a necklace and a Phrygian cap that is encircled with a band embroidered with palmettes and tied above her forehead / Lion standing left, head right; date palm tree behind; in exergue, š’mmḥnt in Phoenician (= people of the camp). Head, Guide, Period III C, 49; GPCG pl. 26, 41 (for prototype). Toned. As made. Includes old collector ticket, noting purchase from Baldwin’s for price of 6/6.
