This piece has been struck from dies similar to those used for normal half-dirhams, but the flan is markedly thicker and the coin itself is heavier. These so-called ‘narrow dirhams’ are now known for the mints of Barqa, Misr and al-Mahdiya as well as al-Mansuriya. All are rare.
