MYSIA, Kyzikos. Circa 450-330 BC. EL Hekte – Sixth Stater (9.5mm, 2.68 g). Head of Apollo, wearing laurel wreath, facing slightly right; below, tunny right / Quadripartite incuse square. Hurter & Liewald I pl. 6, 132 (in a private collection), and CNG E-140, lot 44, otherwise unpublished as a hekte, but cf. Von Fritze I 132 for issue. Slightly compact flan. EF. Extremely rare, the third and finest known in this denomination.
