JUDAEA, Caesarea Maritima. Hadrian. 117-138 CE. Æ (18mm, 5.79 g, 11h). Laureate and draped bust right, seen from behind / Apollo standing left, leaning on tripod, extending right hand towards serpent to his left. Kadman, Caesarea 29 var. (obv. seen from the front); RPC III 3961A.1 (this coin); Rosenberger 25 var. (same); Sofaer 31 var. (same). Earthen green surfaces, roughness. Near VF. Extremely rare variety with the bust seen from behind, this is the only specimen known to RPC.
