Claudius. AD 41-54. Æ Quadrans (18.5mm, 2.68 g, 6h). Rome mint. Struck AD 41-42. TI CLAVDIVS CAESAR AVG, three-legged modius / TI CLAVDIVS CAESAR AVG, three-legged modius. Cf. RIC I 84, 86-88, 90 (for obv. type). Brown surfaces, earthen and green deposits, areas of porosity and roughness. Near VF. Each side struck with a different obverse die. An odd and interesting coin.
